December 28th, 2009

That battle in Marvel Vs Capcom 2 was intense.  It was close but I figured out how to stay in the game.  I was pretty keen on Tron/Iron Man/ Captain Comannd for the most part, but after deciding the Iron Man on my team needed to be a Projectile Assist, it made things go in my favor, especially after making sure I remember there's not much delays in calling assist again that I can spam them (Must be all that Tatsunoko VS Capcom I've played, since it takes longer for an assist to be ready again).

Man, that Tony Stark certainly has the stuff, especially working with Captain Commando and covering their grounds.  At least I'm still in the game against [info]mura_arkaine.

Okay, while I'm still on the topic of comic book-related stuff, I should mention this quickly.  I've looked at the official Comic Con site, since they're now down to selling single day passes and...Saturday is now sold out!  So, Mura, I'm just mentioning this as a fair warning.  If you haven't got the passes by now, this is the last chance you'll have to get them.  Otherwise, volunteering is going to be the only way in (well, in the case of Saturday, it's already at that point).

LOL

Oh god that's horrible.

So, like, this Snow Miku CD thing?

10,000 copies all gone in 4 hours. Both konozama and Animate. Damn.

I think I placed the order within half an hour after Mika-tan put the link on twitter. It's times like this that I'm glad I follow people on twitter and refreshes it like crazy. >_> Seriously, this is like the same speed as the vocaloid nendoroids... Scary.
MOER, famous for their releases of things like OSTER's Miku no Kanzume and doriko's unformed, will be releasing a 10,000 copies limited CD called "Vocaloid Season Collection ~Snow Songs~" on Feb. 3, 2010, which contains 12 winter-themed songs.

What's special about it?

Nendoroid Puchi: Snow Miku.

It's pretty. But ... none of us is sure if anywhere outside konozama is gonna sell it. D;

December 27th, 2009

No wonder others on [info]mura_arkaine's friend list were wishing me luck there.  His Litchi is so deadly that's it's bound to make anyone cry!  Seriously, I had no chance against him!  Not even my Tager stood a chance and knew how to stop it.

Well, tomorrow, it's MAHVEL, BABY!

May Atamoni/Martel/Lorelei/Belldandy/*insert any other god/goddess here* have mercy on my fighting game soul.

(Yeah, begging for mercy from Belldandy?  Since when will I beg for mercy from Belldandy?  Seriously, she's like the last goddess I'd be begging for mercy from.  In fact, she'll probably give mercy before I even ask for mercy.  I'll beg for mercy from a different goddess.)

Well, I better practice MvC2 before I think about retreating to Uncharted and Suikoden.
Let's get it out right now!

Alright, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3!  I want you two to behave among each other!  I will not tolerate any console war crap in this house!  I will be playing with both of you!  I even said I'll be playing Batman on Playstation 3 while playing Bayonetta on Xbox 360, so chill you two!  Not to mention, I will be tracking down Valkyria Chronicles and checking how much of a masochist I am before jumping into Demon's Soul, both for PS3.  On the other hand, I'd still like to check out Lost Odyssey and, weirdly enough, I'm more interested in seeing how well Square Enix ported Final Fantasy XIII to Xbox 360, especially considering the PS3 was the original intent, hence why I'm going that way and now, being a target to a whole bunch of Final Fantasy fanboys!  One last thing!  You both are going to have to share a wired connection (because A.  I'm better off with a wired connection for internet connection and B.  So I can use Ad Hoc Party on PS3) and the HDMI cable (I mean, it's not like both system are going to be active at the same time, right?)!  Failure to do so...well, I'm not going to be a happy man and probably jump on the Wii or something!

Good, now I got that out of my system.  It feels so good that I have all the consoles of this generation.

Okay, let's get on with the show. )

Hope everyone's having/had a nice Christmas. :D

But anyways! Rekka's on twitter! Along with Shimotsukin! We're only missing Chatarin! Ahhhh should I follow Rekka!? She seem like she follows everyone else back though. D:

Oh C/U releasing new album called 「月夜の道化師よ、狂乱に嗤え。」 for C77 it seems! Rekka also uploaded something to Nico and all that but video still in private mode. She's working on the site for that CD or something right now. New C/U stuff finally. TvT

/me is one happy fangirl

Oh Project DIVA sequel that's not the Arcade announced~ SEGA didn't release a platform yet but told us to hold onto what we have, so there may be a chance that it's going either multi-plat or PSP's getting something too. Can't wait 'till there are more info to this. Even though I never managed to Great Shoushitsu on Normal. Yeah. Anyone wanna halp? >_>

Edit @ 7:14 PM EST

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

【黒餡】月夜の道化師よ、狂乱に嗤え。【Fragment_s】

It may not work for people outside the Kuroan community since that's the community link. Will see if I can find the sm link.

Project DIVA DLC officially announced~ <3

I'm at work right now though so can't really check details, but thanks to Hisana on #vocaloidism's quick translation on some of the stuffs, it seems we'll be getting 9 new songs. One of which is DECO*27's. Yes that's very important. (To me.)

They also have two screenies of SasakureP's "*Hello, Planet" on the page so maybe the side scroller is that? :o (Honestly can't tell. All I see are ?????'s.) I'll follow up with this post when I get to go home in 3 hours~

Oh the package is priced 1890 yen instead of 1980 yen. (Either I made a mistake or I typoed or...yeah.)

---

Edit @ 12:07 PM EST

lol OK I cheated.

SEGA named this the "Hatsune Miku: Miku Uta, Okawari (tentive)" project, which is gonna provide new songs and edit data for download off the PlayStation Store. The first pack is called "Additional Songs Deluxe Pack Vol.1". (I know I know, all those names.)

There are gonna be 9 new songs (+ edit data), "*Hello, Planet" as a game, and custom themes for your PSP in this pack. The songs announced are:

doriko - Uta ni Katachi wa Nai Keredo
DECO*27 - Nisoku Hokou
KuwagataP - Puzzle
TokuP - SPiCa

As you can see, very yummy. x3 The pack is scheduled to release in 2010, without a specific date, so we can only hope it'll come soon.

Edit @ 1:49 PM EST

According to this page, the sequel for Project DIVA have already been made. Fast. D: They can't announce the platform yet, but they want you to hold on to the consoles you have currently. Does this mean that it's gonna be PSP? :D

---

To everyone that celebrates it, in case I got sidetracked off again (which is like, 99% of the time), Merry Christmas~ <3

December 23rd, 2009

According to this entry on Hachimakikou, there may be DLC for Project DIVA?

"初音ミクPSP追加DLC:追加楽曲、横スクロールアクション、ミクといっしょ?系が入って1980円"

"Hatsune Miku PSP DLC: additional music, side scroll action, Miku to Issho?-style in a pack for 1980 yen"

Additional music I can understand, but um, side scroll action? Shigatake's game? >_> And I'mma guess that Miku to Issho thing is for Mai'nichi Issho.

Guess we'll see.

Oh, XE say today's exchange rate: 1980 yen = ~$21.60 USD.

December 21st, 2009

So, [info]mura_arkaine pretty much posted that the challenge is on.  Tomorrow, the first game is Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. But first, there's more teasing with Super Street Fighter IV.  Well, we got a look at the new character select screen. Now, it's more about the arrangement of the returning fighters.

It's just reminding me how Tales of VS was arranged that pretty much points out who's in it.

Enough with the teasing already.  Just admit it!  Ibuki's in it!  Seems like we'll have to wait for the trailers/leaked magazine scans.

Now as for the challenge, I've been practicing for the first round, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix.  Need to keep my skills up on each games (though I'm more worried about Marvel Vs Capcom 2 since Mura has more experience there, and Soul Calibur IV, since I'm very rusty there that I'm bound to fall for Xianghua's "Just kidding" stuff...and any other of her attacks for that matter).  Right now, I just need some 80s fight music for training.  Hmm...maybe that song from The Karate Kid (fitting, since Capcom did use that song for their Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix trailers near release last year...oh yeah and two achievements/trophies in Blazblue did reference the first two lines of the song's chorus).

Best of this year

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Best movies I saw this year

1. Inglorious Basterds
2. District 9
3. Michael Jackson's This Is It
4. Ip-man - technically came out Dec 2008 but whatever
5. Ikigami - I was surprised by this because I read the manga and thought it was great, and the movie was actually just as good to me. Again, 2009 release but whatever

Other than these I watched GI Joe, Transformers 2 and some other movies, but while they're great popcorn flicks they didn't really impress me that much.

I don't watch a lot of TV shows nowadays because Japanese TV generally sucks and there are no series worth following on there, so I have to follow shows via torrents usually. :/ Soooo the only shows I've been watching are Dexter (bloody AMAZING), Modern Family (also amazing!), Glee (sometimes good, sometimes omg awesome) and WWE, heh. Anyway!

Top 10 Games (only completed games)
1. Uncharted 2
2. Dragon Quest 4 (US version)
3. Street Fighter 4
4. Assassin's Creed 2
5. Saints Row 2 - On the last mission, so technically this is as good as done. :P
6. Red Faction - I have not finished this but by god it's amazing.
7. GTA: Chinatown Wars
8. Dragon Quest 9
9. Batman: Arkham Aslyum
10. The World Ends With You (US version)

There were some other games I really wanted to put on here, such as Dragon Age, Killzone 2 and Bayonetta, but I really wanted to just put games that I finished on this list, and not stuff that I stopped midway or I simply haven't finished yet. I only broke this rule with Red Faction because it impressed me so much that I can't really look at another open-world game now unless it has something awesome like Geomod implemented into it. And yes, some of those games are from 2008, but I was slow and only got them this year. :P Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go and feed ma bairn!

Here we go again.

N> healthy body )

Hope is like, everything every non-JRPG fan thinks a JRPG protagonist is, for real. Oh my god the moment that dude appeared on screen I wanted to strangle him. SO annoying and so hopeless. Yes, pun intended. The sad thing is that he'll probably turn out to be the guy with the best debuff/buff system in the game (he starts off with Enhancer and Healer classes), so if you wanna get creative in battles you're going to need him. :(

Vanille is way too bubble gum cute for her own good. Overall I like her design but holy jesus she's oblivious to everything happening around her. I certainly hope there's a good explanation for this! Oh yeah, and yeah, she totally looks like Mari Yaguchi. I can't even unsee this shit!

Sazh is faaaantastic. Really liking his character. I thought he was gonna be all stereotypical black dude because of his animations and design but he's turning out to be a good character. Let's see if this holds up!

Lightning is somewhere in the middle because she's the typical stoic character but she's pretty feisty and has some sass to her. She's already punched the fuck outta Snow on two separate occassions!

Speaking of Snow... he's way cheesy but not nearly as bad as Hope. He's probably second worst in the game for me now though.

I saw Fang briefly in a couple of cutscenes but can't really comment on her. I really like her design though. After Lightning she's got my favorite character design in the whole game.

The story is just getting started so I can't really comment on it, but the actual dialogue is kind of hit or miss to me. There are some scenes that turn out to be pretty good but some are borderline mediocre. I haven't run into anything amazingly bad but I'm sure Square won't let me down. :P

Battle system is pretty fantastic right now. It's a lot faster than FFX-2 which was pretty god damn fast for a turn-based RPG. You gotta keep careful attention to your stats in this one because there's shit flying all over the place and party members and enemies are attacking at the same time and countering each other, so it can be very hectic, but it's really fun. The level up system is pretty good too, although because it's rendered in 3D it's a fucking pain in the ass to properly select your power-up sometime. Luckily I haven't fubared a power up yet. Let's hope it stays that way!

Graphics are amazing and the cg scenes are great too, albeit with a lot of overacting with some of the characters. I also don't like how static everything is, it makes it feel very last gen to me. Also... the game pulls a major FFX with a lot of linear paths, so linear in fact it makes me wonder why there's even a mini-map to tell you where the fuck to go lol.

Lastly, one thing I don't particularly like is the fact that save points AND auto-heal after battles exist in the game. It makes about zero sense to include both because traditionally save points are there to make dungeons/areas challenging. They're supposed to shout out to you "proceed at your own risk, because if you get owned you're getting sent back here!" With the auto-heal after battle, the threat of actually dying and restarting is much less... oh yea, did I mention that if you fall in battle, you can just retry anyway? Square would have been better off just going with a checkpoint system or quick save option instead of the traditional save spots for this game.

So yeah... there are quite a few negatives I have with the game right now but I'm still having a lot of fun with it. Killing stuff in this game is a lot of fun with the battle system so I can see myself really enjoying it till the end!

On another news, Crypton released(?) some news regarding the new male vocaloid on their twitter. With these two tweets.

vocaloid_cv_cfm
 ご本人が隣でドキドキしている件w。つか、多くの日本人がココ数日、彼の熱演に触れているのです・・・。
Roughly: "[the seiyuu himself] is excited next to me (lol). Or rather, for these few days there will be many people in Japan that can experience his acting..."

vocaloid_cv_cfm
 彼の素の声に近い、vivid αもアップロード中な件/熱演は@PS3的ナ。
Roughly: "Currently uploading vivid α, something similar to his normal voice / Acting was referring to PS3."

These few days + many Japanese + PS3 = Final Fantasy XIII!? (Release date: December 17, 2009.)

So. Either Ono Daisuke, Kaji Yuuki, or Nakamura Yuuichi.

Fuuuuu I wanna play Starry Sky ~in Winter~... D:

i am channeling yomiko readman... read.or.die. the books in my living room and kitchen need a more organized home, too.... someday, [info]chibi_ginn will have to build me bookshelves.. when we have a bigger place and he has a workshop. :) (you will, right? XD)

the picture is actually missing at least 10 volumes.. i lent half of goong to my friend. :)

so, yeah.. i've been reading like crazy, and not doing too much of anything else....
I am officially done with Tales of Vesperia.

And it's only three games I've done with completed achievements (the others are Xbox Live Arcade games).

I did have to skip the ending just to make sure it's written I got the last ones today (Just wanted to make sure I don't have a case of a random disconnection from Xbox Live during that time when doing so). However, I actually wanted to sit through the ending one last time to have a complete closing to the game. I'll perform that again later. Truthfully, I'm surprised I had the patience to do this game to serious completion.

Tales of Vesperia still reminds me why I still find myself into the series. It is the other Tales game I feel so attached to as much as Tales of Phantasia. Well, I'm not going to drag this part here but, I still love it, despite this year and the fanbase being a killjoy with this installment. I also decided the wallpaper from an outside source will stay as my background and I'll have Estelle stay as my Gamerpic.

Well, as I said before, I'm going to take a break from this installment and I won't even play the PS3 version until probably close to a year from now. Maybe if I can film myself doing the 200 Man Melee using my arcade stick, I'll put it back in. Just, please, don't make me get achievement points from Avatar (no, not the game based around James Cameron's latest movie, I mean the game based on Nickelodeon's cartoon show)...or Terminator Salvation (also not involving James Cameron. I mean, he only did the first two movies). Well, I just want to wait for a newer Tales installment, go after the other two DS Tales game I missed, and there's the game that became a run on gag for my backlog. Of course, I'm going to have to wait for Final Fantasy XIII while I'm at it.
